As sift of sand slipped from my hand I chanced to see before me a wondrous gift... Reality. No foolish fantasy could offer me this sacred sight so clearly; the beauty of a life’s story lies openly upon the earth naturally, the bounty of which can be found as easily in the lowliest ebony depths of a muddy ditch as within coveted cerulean skies, or upon waves of titanium white as they curl and twitch atop the most tempestuous cobalt seas. In search of the purpose of past, I cast about aimlessly seeking simple solutions, pondering life’s never-ending mysteries while the surround sound of noisey screeching gulls teased me, enticed me to crawl over sharp shin-scraping wretched rocks on the jetty, when all along, beneath my wandering feet sacred smooth stones sighed repeatedly: We are all one. We are all one. We are all one. Not being one to consciously comprehend higher math or elusive elaborate formulas, this simple message became my absorption, a vision quest of Unity, my samadhi: Reality. Though it is whatever each one chooses it to be, in the end we are all one. ~samadhi~ non-dualistic, reaching a higher level of concentration through meditation |

Hey Kacy, did you know there is a song by Live called "Secret Samadhi"? I am trying for my Samadhi right now. This a secret little gem here. |

Yo dear Kacy, I don't know about you, however, I'm 100% behind reality. There's nothing like it. Love Bobby |

CG, I didn't know that, thanks for the tip! Have a great week, mon ami. Bobby, me too. Reality is amazing. However, I do enjoy some fantasy time. |

I too am all for reality, and it was brought home firmly the other day when I dropped a three pound sledge on my right big toe...even the left big toe hurt. That portion of 'reality' I can do without! But I loved your portion, my friend, as usual. In reality of toe... j. |

Kacy, this gem with its simplicity and its complexity is a many facetted ruby, or a glass of very select red wine, with its vibrant depths and smooth surfaces of perfection. You need to reach the world with this - and so very, very many of your exquisite poems - what about a book??? Owl |

Oh no, Jimmy, is the toe smashed? That is a reality I could do without too! Thanks for taking time to read. I'll say a healing prayer/chant for that toe!!! Diana, I've thought about a book, but not made any steps in that direction yet. Thank you for such a great reply to this particular poem. It was originally posted in a smaller forum (Poetic Haven) in April 2004, and just needed a small edit update. It is still one of my personal favorites. effective, personal expression of enlightenment/philosophic 'Universalism' (Dhyāna/Chan/Zen in Sanskrit/Buddhism) ... I am particularly fond of: "the beauty of a life’s story lies openly upon the earth naturally, the bounty of which can be found as easily in the lowliest ebony depths of a muddy ditch as within coveted cerulean skies, or upon waves of titanium white as they curl and twitch atop the most tempestuous cobalt seas." applause for this 'penning' !! |

I popped in to see if there was a reply to my reply and got drunk on this delicious ruby red wine/got lost in the depths of this wine red ruby again! I am glad you have thought of a book, Kacy. Please think of it some more. You would be doing a service to humanity. Owl |

Peace permeates your words, dear Kacy. The awareness of being One changes our perception of the world and of humanity. Life's sacredness unfolds, even in a sand grain. Love the whole poem, it is a gem indeed, but the favorite expression is: quote: Yes, I would be happy to be able to buy a book of yours! Love, Margherita |

To each of you, my heart smiles a thank you. Adagio, it is a special joy to see your name here. I think of you and your lady each day I view my garden. My 'Leah' tribute is a white blooming sage. The fragrant old world roses that line the walkway in the back yard now have a nickname as well... Leah's Bountiful Beauties. |
