contrails mark the spot where last I saw your tired and lonely face pain lodged in singular cells cried out broad and wide don’t you see what I do to myself how I take myself away can’t you see I want you to stop me your smile was always small tentative joy never tipped your soul god how we tried your hands grasped at life spending a perfect moment of itself my hands tried to hold you show you what was only a short distance away you kept your eyes on the sky I knew you were really looking for a stumpy mountain peak that could hide you a piece of clear sky a place to leave contrails [This message has been edited by The Lady (12-08-2009 11:57 AM).] |

I am new to Pip, so this is the first of yours I have read, but I am impressed with this one. Such a feeling of loss and regret while reading "Contrails." Glad you came back, and hope you never leave. |

The winter seems pronounced in your finely crafted words here. Deep drifts of feeling. Glad to read you again, and hope you are lifted by placing these words in our keep here. |

Nice writing...reminds me of a woman I called once who proceeded to tell me she was getting married...I wished her luck...two months later she filed for divorce...she told me later she had called me hoping I would talk her out of it...James |

Simply amazing, what we do when we don't think we are capable...leaving our own contrails... Nice to see you with us again.... |

this is really wonderful, great flow and very insightful. it seems to speak of loving someone who could not love themself, even when you tried to show them how. touching. |

The Lady, I really like your writing! So many things flash before me when I read it. Loved the entire poem, but this line in particular, "joy never tipped your soul" Much enjoyed! miscellanea |
