She was woven so long, Her breasts watched Through her shirt Like the white polyester sweater She wore through the shielded snow. The mailman dropped his hat, Gave a slight nod And moved along the busy street. I could see her face beside the store window Could see her hands slightly slide into her coat pockets And I stared so long, I could undress her eyes and make her turn towards me. She stood near the corner of the street like a fixture amongst the winded snow the trail of cars and people slowly cut away and our eyelashes lit each others breaths for one, for us, for another day to be ours. |
