At a truck stop in Maryland, there was a banjo player and his girl, sitting with a "St. Louis" sign, said they'd like to give it a whirl- "I'm headed north", gave my finger a twirl, and I thought, would it be nice to be home again. On through small town Gettysburg, stopped at a Butler's in York- it's a ghost town on Thanksgiving, I got some soup and a plastic fork- I'd love to pick you up but I ain't got the torque. And I thought, would it be nice to be home again. Off McArthur Blvd. in Allentown, at a Perkin's for a home-cooked meal, with Billy Joel singin' in my head; for these northern towns, I have no feel, but bein' home now seems surreal- I thought, we are miles away from home again. |

I can hear this poem singing in my head. It has a Woody Guthrie feel to it. I love the last picture too. A |

"and I thought, would it be nice to be home again." I like the way you used this line Dixie... it's a yearning poem made me yearn |
