even in gloves I can imagine the texture
of you as a pale marble sunburn
but you would call it blushing innocent

you talk in your sleep sometimes, wordbacks
seem to be revealed like left over love
that has spilled from the skillet onto burners

I wonder if he listens to your lip edges then
or if he just keeps them raveled as twine
and tells the mirror man he is the rope of you

and that my windows don't really worship you
when you are on purpose in nothing on
just waiting for the hours to move you closer

to when you don't need him as a part time god

Wicked.

I like this one a lot. Especially the twine/rope bit. Intelligent.

Always intelligent. Dang.

Masterful imagery and psychological depth, dear D.!

An exceptionally intriguing piece.

The images your words create and the emotions they invoke would make your work memorable even if they didn't tweak memories... but of course... they do. *S*

Wonderful!!

It's that time of year when the windows get a bit clouded with misty frost.  But, I'll keep a chamois by the panes if you promise to look.
