Hush, hush, hush little child.
The storms have awakened
yet the winter is mild.
The warmth of the fire
and the hearth of the home
leave me wondering why you still feel cold.

Hush, hush, hush little babe.
The lightning is striking
and the demons are awake.
They're prowling the land
and the sea for a soul.
They will take and make the soul their own.

Hush child, hush babe. I am near.
No one will take you while I am here.
Hush babe, hush child. Quiet all your tears.
For darkness and devils feed on fear.

Hush, hush, hush bonny lad.
The demons are itching
for the life you've had.
They'll steal you away
if you don't quiet down
and I won't lose you to the demons now.

Hush child, hush babe. I am near.
No one will take you while I am here.
Hush babe, hush child. Quiet all your tears.
For darkness and demons feed on fear.

Hush, hush, hush tiny boy.
The demons a'swarming
are harsh and coy.
Their dangerous and devilish
and crude and cruel
and I won't give my baby's soul.

Hush, hush, hush.
Hush little child. I am near.
Hush, hush.
The demons are here.
Hush, hush.
My child so dear.

Hush, hush, hush little child.
You're finally quiet
as the dark is gettin' wild.
You're crying has stilled.
The demons are fled.
They've got what they wanted 'cause
my baby child is dead.

*These are the lyrics to a song that I wrote.
