Autumn's Amber Ambience |

Autumn's amber ambience settles seductively over the bay. I ponder its wavelength, wondering how it differs from the fiery blaze of mid-summer. Both highlight the undulating water with shimmer-tones reflecting the setting sun. Each season seems to cast its own mood and vibrancy. The salty air is crisp today with the smell of surrounding sea-life. Melencholy moments are subdued by the serenity of sitting silently on a coastline boulder exposed by the low tide. This new think spot suits me. |

That is beautiful and a little sexy. But what is the water and the smells and sounds but seductive? latearrival |

Oh, I lovvvvvvvvvvve this. I read it several times, very, very slowly, soaking in the sights, smells and sensations, and still pausing after every thought to savour it (the way I eat fried mushrooms, my favourite food in all the world) - and I am going to read it again after I have finished my reply. I love that you have a new favourite think spot (Flicka, my beloved horse, has a rock I took from home with a garden sign behind it, Flicka's Thinking Stone along with his garden one, Flicka's Garden of Tranquility - and the whole poem made me think – besides Kacy's Oregon Beach - of the peace and beauty and thoughts I share with Flicka at his grave every weekend. It was Flicka's birthday last Sunday. He has been in Heaven now for 8½ years.) I can just see you on your boulder, and I am thinking what an exquisite mood painting it would make if there was an artist worthy of painting our Kacy and her Oregon beach and good enough to paint the serenity and pondering in your eyes and bearing. In fact, I can see a series of such paintings in my mind’s eye – close-ups from different angles and ones from a distance with a panoramic view of the beach but with your form on your boulder as the main focus – and similar ones in different weathers and at different times of the year. I can picture you there, Kacy. Seems the perfect spot for meditative communication with the Universe. Peace, Tranquillity, and the Sea: major components of my life. Kindest regards Jim "We are stardust: we are golden: and we've got to get ourselves back to the garden." --Joni Mitchell "Woodstock" |

Kacy, your "new think spot" would suit me as well! ~ Enjoyed the musicality of your descriptive words through your use of alliteration. Such moments of quietude feed and soothe one's soul. Linda |

Your new "think spot" would serve me well too, Kacy. I can picture you there in that beautiful spot that was created for a poet. Seems to be working for you. Ida |

Kacy i love the title of this and the poem didnt disapoint either, (i knew it wouldnt), amazing how nature can turn your mood and lift you high enough out of the gloom to be impressed by its beauty isnt it? Thank you for this autumn wonder. Goldenrose. Being deeply loved by someone gives you strength, while loving someone deeply gives you courage. Lao Tzu 6th century BC. |

Dear Kacy you certainly sound as if you are at peace with the world, and what a lovely place to sit down and enjoy what the panorama has to offer, it's good for the soul. Loved it and you. Lindsay |
