Torn Cloth and Cotton Sky Inept, the mounting wind circles vacant arms Spire upward, shivering in plea the sun Catching tails of cotton veils, wrapped the kite Seeking freedom from limbs; seeking warmth Chuckle clouds, puffed and lithe Humming to the chimes, their slow lilting smile Plump across the blue gray sky, capping tree Bravado wind, continuous in vigor Slips an icy digit through the bodice lace Sudden tears shake kite to relented dress Footfalls below, crunch scattered clad now lost Eyes up, glitter beams of yellow Warm will the season cloak the cold And fill the up stretched arms of change Copyright Kkh 11/4/09 |

Very sad, autumny piece, Kathleen. Full of vivid imagery speaking strongly of departures and starting over. Strong work. Namaste Jim "We are stardust: we are golden: and we've got to get ourselves back to the garden." --Joni Mitchell "Woodstock" |
