I switched the story telling play on words and heard myself curse through the fog of remorse
You could see my breath and smoke, I smoked a whole pack within the reach of another's grasp
Until the wind blew me away again and there was no time to fit in with fiction's unadventerous beginnings
I turned around to see him standing there, but no one standing there sounds so much better

In which case

I turned around to see no one standing there but still stalked by memories unattatched to their faults
It was never me and never made sense to believe otherwise
But I've fooled myself and him into thinking this would work out - ever
Knowing, still, that it never could

I've torn myself apart

oh I do love this......its all about perception......and we can do ourselves much harm from taking blame we were never meant to shoulder.......this is powerful
enjoyed!

It's never too late to put yourself back together.

Good write Emily.
