"Banished"

Banished, oh Banished, how Banished was he
truth unfed, said twas by conservative Capulets thee

Chains, Woe chains, in chains you may find
helpless, restless, and dear Montague mind

Innocent, oh Innocent, how Innocent was he
in dark, sad dark, window's light did flee

Rosaline, oh Rosaline, 2nd Rosaline? Nay, she's Juliet the sun!
"What booteth me to love and serve a fell, unthankful one"?*

Hear, yes here, Do hear was twere he she found
Fortune's fancy or Fortune's folly? Will doth make she a sound?

Fair, So fair, how rare are men like he made
What say she? What is she, the Heart, or Queen of Spade?

But wait! Oh Wait! Wait, light in yonder window breaks!
no sound, none found, no utterance to he she makes

Code, maybe code, code quote did she write?
refound? renoun? was to he, her status typed?

So he, confused he, Here to shadows must he fly
until words from her direct, until words to he, she cry

What say she? Who is thy?
Who will be, her lucky guy?

So to you, dear friends, learn-ed scholars of yore
This play I speak, for her, was originally scored
Said in rhyme, tempest time,
will there be written more?

*quote from Brooke's poem, Romeus and Juliet, about Romeo's previous love
