THE SOFTEST MILK

Where light ends in a soft explosion
Unseen, was the naked quiet
Trailing over like winter whispers
Birds swooping in gentle derangement

A rainbow hiding from peering ears
Lakeside by the tiny mountain
Disrobing the herds of balding cattle
The ancient man with puckered eyelids

And other sorts too strange to utter
~~
