When pigs fly I’ll leave you, and beat you Disrespect you, mistreat you Talk about you and make you cry Take away your self-esteem Be rude and be mean I’ll do all of these things when pigs fly I’ll slap you and trap you Grab you, and snap you I’ll even tear out your soul I’ll feel you and rape you And Kill you and tape you And keep going until you grow old I’ll take away your jewelry, necklaces and rings, Oh and please don’t cry I’ll do all of these really bad things When pigs grow wings and fly But until that day when pigs take flight I’ll hold you close, close and tight I’ll keep you warm, I’ll keep you safe When its time to mourn, I’ll keep the faith And you know I would, because I never lie Until the day, when pigs fly |

Hello Tweet45. There is a darkness to this work that makes me just a tad uncomfortable. I am left with the feeling that the Jekyll sentiments of the last stanza are simply a thin veil through which the Hyde of the rest of the poem peers, waiting. A dark read, but nicely worked. Note: Pink Floyd first noted Pigs on the Wing way back in "the day." Sutra 8: Faith is not an alternative to thought: the one excludes the other. |
