You tasted like vodka mixed with human
I hadn't expected it to be that nice
you laughed and told me yes I did, knowing I was lying

I stood with you for hours
waiting for strangers to dissolve into the night
like salt in a glass of water
I tasted your sterilized lips then
and regretted it for two years

I still remember that foolish night
when I see a woman with a similar build
or a delicate nose and slender lips
eyes that could sandblast the sadness from the earth
with delicate grains of quartz.

Paul, you come up with the most brilliant and unique descriptions!

i.e.

"eyes that could sandblast the sadness from the earth
with delicate grains of quartz."

~ Gosh, yer good!

Maureeeeeeeenie... I was a little surprised that somebody resurrected this one. I had thought nobody liked it. Thanks for reading. What, exactly, will my bad habits cost me?

Delightful thought, dear Paul. That's worth even a regret or two I guess.
