Rage on thunder.  Grumble, rumble, roar, and BOOM!
I fully understand the feelings and warnings of possible doom.
It’s okay to be irritable and angry.
Complain.  Burst out loudly to assure you’ll be heard.

Lightening, illuminate as best you can while you zigzag your path in the sky.
Encourage me to shed light for others as I struggle to find my own way to fly.
I need to break through the darkness.
I must prove capable of producing the beauty of a rainbow.

Welcome rain drops—all sizes and shapes; come drip, drop, mingle, and bond together.
Comfort me as you try gently to re-teach the lesson about the storm I should weather.
Enjoy your individuality.  Also allow yourself to grow.
Take time for yourself; then spend time with your soul mates.
Run wildly on occasion, if you truly must, but use caution as you go.
Too much or too little is very harmful; “just enough” is the best way to flow.

Cleanse away the dirt and the grime from your accumulative environment.
Refresh with spirit to live, love, and share laughter for memories, peace, and enjoyment.

Dear Jaunita...

Thank for the comments on my poem.  It was written about depression and how we can acknowledge it and get help and then lift ourselves up.  God gave me a literal rain storm to write about in this regard and the skies immediately cleared as soon as I was done writing.  I felt much less depressed as I saw God at work.  But you are also right it describes Kansas weather.  This is the only poem I ever wrote that came to me word after word almost faster than I could write it and I never changed any part of it before I printed up as finalized.

Yes, we had snow this afternoon, but it didn't stick to anything.  I'm sure not ready for snow.

I'm not ready for it either, but all of the signs of winter have been around for a few weeks now. Not sure exactly where you are, but I'm basically in the middle of I35/I70.

Of course you know that Denver got about 6" today of the white stuff, and the ski resorts are already open.

Crazy fools...

Way Cool! Loved it even more with the background you gave to Sunshine. When you speak of learning from nature or feeling Spiritual in the coincidental and balance all that sort of thing, it makes me go Hello!  Our writing styles are nothing alike but I feel like our heads and hearts are in the same place. I will be curious to see what else you have to say...especially if you care to comment on depression.

Lori,
I don't have any more poetry at this time about depression; however, today I submitted prose called Lesson at Sunset that you might enjoy.
Glad you enjoyed The Storm Within.  It is one of my favorites.
