Of course, with a bit of inspiration from Earth Angel's piece…

The Queen’s Ransom (Villanelle)
By Robert E. Michaud Jr.

Take heart, my Queen, aspire not to speak
For in thine hollowed soul there be no more
Betwixt thy love and treasure forth to seek.

I’ve searched thy kingdom through and found it bleak
And have each dark, cold chasm now explored,
~ Take heart, my Queen, aspire not to speak.

Alas, thine bosom’s hold emotions peaked
While dragon scowled and men were poised for war
Betwixt thy love and treasure forth to seek.

Lo, in mine battle, barricades grew weak
And death was not so pleasant to ignore,
~ Take heart, my Queen, aspire not to speak.

Mine broken heart hath turned the other cheek
And chivalry no recompense implores
Betwixt thy love and treasure forth to seek.

With death infilling kingdom, now, that reeks
And riches gone awry to distant shores,
Take heart, my Queen, aspire not to speak
Betwixt thy love and treasure forth to seek.

Balladeer,

Thank you and you know that, after doing a Villanelle and all, Chocolate must be right around the corner.

Smiles and God bless,

Sharon,

Why thank you so very, very much for your 'picture perfect' reply, because, well, I do so love 'weaving' word pictures. I do. I do.

Again, thanks and God bless,

-Bob

Where is our Earth Angel to bask in this romantic and beautiful poem.  I love Villanelles and this is exquisite.

Thank you, Bob.

Alison,

Really??? I know??? I know??? Where, oh, where could she be??? Anyway, thinking about it a bit more, you know, considering the world condition and all, I do suppose that all 'good' Earth Angels are quite busy now-a-days and, well, I do, well, I do think of her as one of them good ones, so, I do suppose that she's off saving the world or something kind of major like that. I suppose??? Anyway, again, Alison, thank you so much for stopping by and for your kind reply.

Thank you and God bless,

-Bob

Roniece Dawson-Bruce,

Why thank you for your friendly gesture (bisous) and lovely commendations from Sydney and, also, thank you so very much for your added encouragement in that you also complimented me on my word weaving ability.  Wow, I’m sure you already know this, but, anyway, you Gals are really, Really Special and, again, thank you, thank you, thank you so very, very much and, as always, God bless, (bisous), and big smiles,

-Bob
