Ah, ‘tis a sad and dreary day- When one does look around. On every side and see the shame Which in the world abounds. The lack of pride, and chivalry- No honor can we see... Nor one to take a stand and say, The way things ought to be. Gone are the days of noble knight- To rescue maiden fair... But look around, and ..aye, my lad There’s villains, and to spare. Gone are the days of wind and sail- Iron men and wooden ships... When truth and honor were the fruit, Of men and women’s lips. For now 'tis sport to tell a lie- And honor? God forbid! Men boast for hours of deceit- And vile deeds that they did. I’ll not capitulate... Not I! Though honor can’t avail- I’ll set my course by Truth’s bright star.. So goes the Traveler’s Tale. |

Well said!!! No poem every written is truer than this one. Too bad that most heros are in the unemployment line today. Damn you write a good poem. Makes me want to break my pen. |

This indeed tells of all our woes. ...I'll set my course by Truth’s bright star. So goes the Traveler’s Tale... ‘tis our own reward Thanks for a great read, Melton |

Gunslinger - you write of the changes well. I wonder from the past to now how things have changed perhaps not for the better... BC |
