           Autumn Evening Wind

Beyond these dark, indifferent windows,
beneath a faint-disk moon rising,
the algid Autumn evening wind
(never lingering long)
scatters wisps of clouds, leaves
   and memories
across these ancient hills.
On this dagger-edge of Winter,
love and life are hollow echoes
resounding from a broken heart
to an empty sky.

"On this dagger-edge of winter" Love this.
Another very fine poem, Bruce. I think I have saved more of yours than I have my own.

You are the master of melancholic poetry, dear Bruce. No doubt many a heart can relate to this feeling, beautifully expressed.

Love and warmth.

So sad but beautifully written!
