talisMAN By: Noah Eaton 9/17/09 . . . ...I hear your blood, breaking for me, as I take one, l o n g, hard, stare, into your s e e p i n g heart, with eye of Horus magnitude... ...you feel as though, you're drowning in a sky, heavier than blood, fierier than breath, as sacred, as the seven metals, as the salt, beneath our skin... . . ...glare your mind's eye, upon the white noise... ...during the retention, of our weightless breath... ...my avowal, ambrosially grips your throat, with divine will... . . . . . ...I vow to persue, with insistent solicitation, the Eternal evoked within you, devouring each demand... ...your oracle of breath decants... . . ...gilding you, with golden mean, dangling, around your neck, where I graft on your behalf... your talisMAN... . . . ...Like a lotus flower, heaving itself to purity, on the surface of a stream, I rise with you, in inexhaustible helix, upon whitecaps of waves, that flow endlessly, like the fortune of a Nautilus shell... ...all that's left unspoken, I shall exalt... ...instigating, Ephesian letters, only you could have dreamt up, until you sough, the entire Akashic library, in your deepest sleep... . . ...glare your mind's eye, upon the white noise... ...during the retention, of our weightless breath... ...my avowal, ambrosially grips your throat, with divine will... . . . . . ...I vow to persue, with insistent solicitation, the Eternal evoked within you, devouring each demand... ...your oracle of breath decants... . . ...gilding you, with golden mean, dangling, around your neck, where I graft on your behalf... your talisMAN... . . . (...with cat eye’s abundance, shrieks of yellow tourmaline, you’re meditating on my breath, excogitating the primordial seed, with cat eye’s abundance, conferring our static hands, we're Shiva and Shakti, a full-blooded enneagram… . . ...I vow to persue, with insistent solicitation, the Eternal evoked within you, devouring each demand... ...your oracle of breath decants... . . ...gilding you, with golden mean, dangling, around your neck, where I graft on your behalf... your talisMAN... Awwwwwwwwwww, thanks sooooooooooo much, dearest Margherita! (blushes) I wish I could give more background on this particular poem, but when I began writing this and didn't have a particular idea at the time, I felt like my heart was electrocuted trying to describe something transcendental, and as frustrating as it was to struggle focusing on this particular thought I had, I got this image in my head of someone's eyes being amulets that cast off sparks as charms...................then I got this incredibly ecstatic thought of someone giving oneself to another like an amulet in human form.........loving unconditionally and passionately and offering fortune, wisdom, protection and other infinite blessings! That's when the word "talisman" came to my head, and I was ecstatic because I'm making my new poems reflect the intense, willing, sensual, adult aspect of my personality, and I saw the word coincidentally ended with "man" so I thought I'd make the title as heavy as the poem itself by capitalizing the "man" and then making the first letter lower-case to give it a mysteriously sexy touch. Incidentally, it's also my first poem EVER here to have a lower-case title! (smiles) In a nutshell, I intended this to be a positively-affirming anthem about how anyone is capable of loving at full capacity and bestowing fortune, protection, wisdom and so much more like a talisman is said to do, and carried it across in an unabashedly sexy, intense, heavy way. I shared this with some of my friends beyond this site and they said the beginning in particular blew them away! (blushes) Awwwwwwwwwwwww, hope you have a wonderful weekend, dearest Margherita! Behold, Linda bestows great huggies upon all the world and this thread, yay! (blushes) That's right, my friend! I'm not sure if you're aware of this, by the way, but beyond this site I've begun to use the screen-name "Lisping Hibiscus" to highlight the triumph of my inner-phoenix, my rebirth, my transition of sorts. That name came from an earlier poem I wrote titled "Hemorrhaging Hibiscus", which I got inspired to write as I've always been enthralled with the sight of, after pouring boiling hot water into a glass teapot with hibiscus flowers inside of it, seeing the water bleed so passionately scarlet in an instant. I feel that reflects my passionate, yet spiritual nature, but thought "Hemorrhaging Hibiscus" sounded too gothic, and after some reflection, I realized how many often see me as really meditative, tranquil and stoic on the surface but add, once they get to know to me, they can also see the more effervescent, buoyant, passionate aspects of my personality in a positive way. Then the word "lisp" came to my head, and I felt it kind of reflected my well-intentioned tendency to lisp in speech, and the name "Lisping Hibiscus" was born..............eroticizing everything about me I used to wish I was never born with from my social difference to my small hands to being a Scorpio...........and making them my strengths I take great pride in! Even so, I believe my established original name "Mistletoe Angel" still holds great meaning and relevance here (and I say that not just because I can't change my name here! ) in that mistletoe is symbolic of so many, and often contradictory, things depending on what culture you're from. Some cultures think of it as good fortune, others think of it as a parasite...........some see it as an antidote to poison, others see it as the source of the poison. It also represents immortality in Druid culture, and of course there's the sexy Christmas connection, LOL! It means so many different things to different people, and I think that reflects who I am at a person.............I mean many different things to many different people, I'm a still water running as deep as water could go. (smiles) I'm among the minority who is very excited about my birthday late next month! I'm not ashamed to admit how old I am, as we only get older each second but what ultimately matters is how old you want to feel internally........in heart, spirit and mind.........and I've never felt this young, able, willing and alive before! Consider me a 25 going on 26-year old who feels reborn from ecstasy! (does happy dance) Have a fabulous, scintillating weekend, dearest Linda! (huggies) XOXO, Noah Eaton (Lisping Hibiscus) "If we have no peace, it is because we have forgotten that we belong to each other" Mother Teresa |

My dear friend, your response was fascinating to read! ~ and rather informative! It was interesting to read how your new name "Lisping Hibiscus" came into being. Of course, "Mistletoe Angel" will always be a part of who you are, angel friend. I find it difficult to believe that you are turning 26 on October 28! How time flies! You were still a teenager when you and I first became friends! It's been a joy watching you grow in the man you are today! Much love to you, my dear friend! Linda |

(huggies) And what especially fascinates me is that some are beginning to call me by my alias instead of my real name, just like some started calling Gordon "Sting" just because he had a bumblebee-colored shirt on one day at a concert, and some started calling Paul of U2 "Bono" because it was Irish for "beautiful voice" and many thought that name fitting! It's truly not uncommon to see people in Portland live by their aliases, although my alias would surely be mistaken by a handful as an adult business star name! It's true it feels like only half the time that has actually transpired has drifted by, and it's amazing to me how long I've remained part of this community............and proudly so. In a way, I feel my legacy here will be how I was like an Exhibit A in observing the life of someone growing from childhood to adulthood in poetic form, with all the various non-poetic discussions that came with it! I wouldn't be surprised if, in the long run, I'm also remembered most of all for the passion and energy I put into my work as though I'm just as much writing pep rallies than actual poems! Hope you had a great weekend, my friend! XOXO, (Lisping Hibiscus) "If we have no peace, it is because we have forgotten that we belong to each other" Mother Teresa |
