Farewell To Summer Please Click Link above to hear music and my voice recording. Music: Mountain Spirit by The Healing Garden Waters  Artist: Tan Chun Farewell To Summer ~ Linda L. Dowd ~ Twirling, swirling ~ a leaf spins 'round, In soft descent down to the ground. A sign that summer is slipping away A portent that autumn is soon under way. Gold crowns of maples kiss cerulean skies, And as days grow shorter, I soon realize ~ That the changing of seasons, I both welcome and rue, For it's off with the old and on with the new. Goodbye, days of summer and to fun on the farm. I'll miss all your flowers ~ your warmth and your charm. I await your return as I do every year. Now I bid you adieu as I wipe away tear. But all is not over for autumn's my friend. It's crisp and its cool and a colourful blend, Of yellow and gold and orange and red, And the ground will be covered with soft, leafy bed. The apples have ripened and fallen from trees. They're pressed into cider ~ a drink sure to please. Patches of pumpkins add color to fields, The crops have matured and been reaped of their yields. Corn roasts and bonfires and rides on hay wagons. There's the Halloween magic of witches and dragons. Farmer markets to visit and fun country fairs. Good times to be had in the fresh autumn air. Farewell, my Sweet Summer ~ I bid you adieu. I await your return as I always do. But there comes a new season and I welcome it in. Greetings, Dear Autumn! ~ Let the good times begin! ~ |

Good morning, my dear Mar-phina! ~ I suppose I should be saying, "Good afternoon" since your time zone is 6 hours ahead of ours! Autumn is such a lovely time of year. I'm pleased that you enjoyed my seasonal poem from summer to fall and the presentation. And... college football! LOL Autumn colors are purple and gold and good times are an LSU win. *G* Of course... our trees do stay stubbornly green... or drop their leaves in a brown rain. *G* This is a lovely farewell to summer and welcome to autumn... beautiful work! *s* |

LPW ~ Thank you, Lindsay! I enjoy all the seasons of the year, but there is something extra-speciail about autumn. It's grounding ~ yet there is an energy that really appeals to me.
