I stand and watch the starlings as they gather And I look at the meadow for a clue I look up at the vastness of the galaxies For I’ve been looking everywhere for you I can hear the rustling leaves of autumn And the spring fed waters as they fall I’ve been listening well to the warbler’s lovely song But I can’t hear a sound from you at all Then I wonder if you are even present Do you see the sorrow on my face Can you hear my prayers, if you aren’t even there Perhaps I’ll choose a different time and place Then the starlings flew into the heavens And the field was quite a sight to see A million little stars are spelling out the words Turn around and please come unto me Oh I could never lift my face toward heaven I can never let him see my tears How could my heart consider any of those doubts When the Lord has been with me through the years Oh Lord forgive me for asking you these questions The simple answer was with me all along You ARE the stars, and the wind and the earth And are the most exquisite song Elizabeth Santos |

Deep pain can sometimes make us feel abandoned, but then suddenly there comes this wonderful awareness of being wrapped in divine love always. You express this so beautifully, with your usual mastery. Poignant gift for dear Joyce. Love, Margherita |

Joyce possesses the deep abidng faith that I strive for and would never have these some doubts, but sometimes it helps to be reminded that we are not alone in our sorrow. As for Joyce, she knows the Lord is with her every moment, but in addition she has a whole family of poets whose prayers are being heard. I was so touched by her poem LOve you, Joyce Liz |

Ms. Santos You are still the most wonderful poet around. I still have the poem you wrote about me and still just gives me chills. You have always been one of my favorites and you still amaze me with your intelligence and your craft of poetry. |

Dear Elizabeth, I am so amazed that you use your talent to write for me. I am pleased and touched and I do get my peace from Him. I know our Jesse is with Him and we will all see him again. His mother tells me she is jealous because I will see him first. Thanks to all of you who have paused to think of us in our pain and to remember us in your prayers. I have found so much love in these pages. Love, Joyce |

Elizabeth, one again you have penned the most beautiful poem. And, for a very special lady. |
