I can speak to you about the pain that I feel I can speak to you about all that is real I can speak to you about the weapon that is steel I can speak to you about the moments that I steal I can speak to you about the layers that she peels I can speak. But will you listen? I can speak. But will you care? I can speak. My voice raspy and crisp. I can speak. Without speaking. The way I tilt my hat The way I tilt my gaze The way I take my steps The way that I'm not phased I can tell you about the tree on the hill How it stood so tall and so still I can speak about the fruits on the hill How they rolled so soft until... I can speak so loudly I can speak so clearly But everyone's so deaf Everyone's so preoccupied They wouldn't notice if my voice lied They wouldn't notice if my spirit died They wouldn't notice if my eyes cried So I can speak. I can do that well. Question is. Will you listen? Will you care? I can love you. I can do that well. Question is. Will you listen? Will you care? So I think to bypass such a question. I'll etch it in stone. Then maybe I won't be so alone. "We are all in the gutter, but some of us are looking at the stars." Oscar Wilde |

I felt every line and that's what it's all about (to me). Most good - now I am off to read more of your poetry. Alison |

what a lovely and touch ballad you have penned--that cries out to be heard or at least pitied for the abuse and scorn that overwhelms the ears and stymies the footsteps toward a renewed caring and compassion. Very good! I thank the LORD everyday |
