Sleep-Time Lullaby

Lay down your head and go to sleep
You’ll dream of moats and castle’s keep
As mermaids sing from water's deep
From waves they peep; from waves they peep

While stars shine down from darkened skies
They comfort those with tired cries
Then duck and smile as comets fly
They whistle by; they whistle by

It’s time to close your weary eyes
The day is done until sunrise
Each morning brings a new surprise
Away night flies; away night flies

So listen to the nighttime sing
The joyful tune that crickets bring
While fire flies create lighted strings
From dreams they spring; from dreams they spring

Lay down your head and go to sleep
You’ll dream of laughing elves that leap
And dance ‘til morning sunlight creeps
To kiss your cheek; to kiss your cheek

What ever a 'Monotetra' thingy is, I liked it...and don't bother to explain...I still wouldn't understand...

Much enjoyed the read though.... whatever it is!

Now all you need to do is add some music and this will become a classic.

Donna,

How nice to see you among us again. I remember hoot_owl_m (not sure if that is how her name is here -- you know, Ruth) did one a few years ago.  I think I tried one then when I was "aziza".  I love writing them - give it a shot.  It's fun.

Love you,
A

-

Linda,

How you make me smile.  I'd love to play and do the sympacto with you (did that sound suggestive?   )  I love that you have read this as you have.  I keep coming back to you and that naughty little fairy too.

Love you both,
A

Brought back memories of when I used to sing my daughter to sleep.

If only I had read this before.

Beautifully captured by all means.

This is very cute ~ I loved the ending that tied the sweetest lullaby up! What a lovely thing to remember before one goes to sleep.

Sweet dreams!
