Hate and Anger and Fear The hate and anger and fear, It brings to my eye, A heart-shaped tear, The hate and anger and fear. The crying hearts for those we lost, The angry cries to those who took them, The broken pride in those who paid the cost, The grieving hearts of those who loved and lost. We shall remember that day, September 11, 2001 as a day of great cost, The fear that we maybe wiped away, And yet, somehow, we came together, some way. No doubt "hate, anger and fear" were immediate reactions to what happened, but what was overwhelming was the pain, the suffering ... and you express this intensely with your "heart-shaped tear". Love, Margherita |
