Go Forth in Truth
by Linda L. Dowd

Go forth in truth and bear not false facade
~ Lest you incur the wrath of those you scorn.
Stand in the loving Light of Father God.

There be no shadows dark on hallowed sod.
Be meek ~ act not as to the manor born.
Go forth in truth and bear not false facade.

Be mindful of the soil on which you trod
~ That it be strewn with rose ~ not prickly thorn.
Stand in the loving Light of Father God.

He’ll guide you on your path with Lighted rod.
Fear not travails ~ you need not be forlorn.
Go forth in truth and bear not false facade.

Though hills be steep ~ hang onto Balustrade
~ For He won’t let you fall nor fleece be shorn.
Stand in the loving Light of Father God.

Give thanks for His avail thru’ prayer and laud.
With grateful heart, rise ev’ry blessed morn.
Go forth in truth and bear not false facade.
Stand in the loving Light of Father God.

A truly lovely and compassionate message in this wonderfully written villanelle.  I especially loved your line "Be meek - act not as to the manor born".

Dear Linda Angelo Terrestre, I lingered for quite a while upon that beautiful path of roses ... and when I read your highly meaningful words I felt inundated by wisdom and beauty. You know the value of divine harmony and you know what it takes to not falter.

You mastered this villanelle with incomparable skill. I am quite in awe.

Love and hugs, beautiful soul!

A very well penned poem, dearest Linda.

Do I detect a tad of admonishment for my Dionysian pride? :p

'Wailing voices on the wind, urging me to turn. Distant tortured screams. Cold blue fires burn'.

Thank you! I find villanelles rather challenging to write. I made a 'recipe card' to follow so I don't get lost in the quagmire of directions!

My dear Mar-phina ~

I very much appreciate your appreciation. This is my second villanelle and I shall attempt another one soon. Hopefully writing in this challenging poetic form will become easier as I "practice, practice, practice"!

Thank you for your warm , kind words.

Yes, I too, adore that painting. I discovered it on the net without an artist's name for whom I could give credit.

Thinking of you, my dear friend,

Love you too!

One Who Cleaves with the Sun

Greetings, Luke the Duke! I admired the skill you displayed with writing your villanelle! ~ as did pip's illustrious teacher, Balladeer! He showed me the error of my ways with my first villanelle ~ and apparently I listened and learned from his tutelege. He was pleased with this one!

Love to you my Dionysian friend!

Brown-eyed Beauty ~

My goodness, dear Soul Sister! That was very nice of you to say! You've just added to my Sunday morning smile! I look for your poems as well when I pop into pip and I missed you very much while you were on "hiatus"!

Dear Linda - I needed to read your poem tonight because life is pretty uncertain for me at the moment.  I literally don't know if I'm coming or going but will sleep tonight with "faith" in my heart.  Thank you!

Linda,
This in an amazing piece in many ways
The content is exquisite, the form impeccable. It is not an easy task to write a villanelle which lyrically flows and maintains the integrity of the meaning. You have accomplished all of this and I applaud you for it
THAnk you for sharing your talent in an inspiring and meaningful way
Well done, dear poetess

Liz, I was absolutely beaming as I read your highly complimentary comments. Yeppers, writing a villanelle is all of that!
It pleases me greatly that you appreciate my efforts in writing one! Thank you, Lady Poetess Liz! ~ and I adored your Rondeau! ~ another difficult form in which to write! ~ and you did it masterfully!
