When Jody Hugged Me (from Boyhood Tales) When Jody hugged me, it was like she melted into my skin. She flowed into me, became an integral part of my soul, and when we stepped apart, my whole body yearned to restore the connection it had lost. She didn't squeeze me, or hug me tight, she just put her arms around my neck and was absorbed into my being. When Jody hugged me I always died a little between each one, never recovering from the last. I'm struggling with a memory, not hurting anyone but me, because when Jody hugged me, I always knew I was alive and there was no place better I needed to be. When Jody hugged me . . . I was loved. © wesley james beard, jr. august 2009 [This message has been edited by jwesley (09-11-2009 09:20 PM).] |

Ya know, I am always moved when I see a couple with their arms around each others waist or shoulders, their bodies just kind of leaning into each other...it's just so endearing to me...like your poem. |

Wesley my good friend that is a very poignant poem and although sad in one sense it shows what wonderful memories you have. Well done and take care. Lindsy |

quote: You got that soooo right, dear Jimmy. There is a nostalgic touch to it, but it is so intense that it is as if you lived it NOW. Wonderful and inspiring. Love, Margherita |

I love how you carry the memory and feelings with you, Jimmy. It took me back to a boy who used to ride the entire bus loop so he could spend a few minutes alone talking with me. When I think of him, I feel -- love. He and I shared a love that I still can't define .. nor do I want to. Love to you, my friend. Alison |
