THE FINAL BLOW Let me tell you the story Of a girl who would never tarry To lay faith on all and sundry Unconscious of the consequence which may become thundery. Life she lived to the hilt Believing future laid in ones deeds Waltz through life to lilt Paying scant respect to her needs. Loved she with a passionate abundance Generous and bountiful she only had delight Needed not, wanted not except her loves glance Alas! Callously her loving heart was left with a blight. Bewildered conscious she became of life’s falcity Many a day passed by clueless Out she came from minds captivity To live once again heedless. Sallied forth she with head held high Memories she kept safely in her heart Back to her old self, never paused to sigh Protective and caring gathered she every found hart. Showered her love and encouraged the weak Exemplary she became their messiah Days flew by and unnoticed passed the week By and by along came another pariah. Cautiously step by step she changed her perception Hoping against hope this was for real Alas! Braveheart encountered nothing but deception Nothing differed between reel and real. Made of stern stuff she refused to be wrecked Memories once again she kept safely in her heart Thorns she kept aside and life with flowers decked Surreal once again she gathered her harts. Now she told them to suspect love Inside she knew she it would be hard to survive On her harts she showered her unlimited love With everlasting smile pretended to be alive. Days, weeks and then a year went by Wounded heart never did really heal Then to strike the fatal nail a knave came by With sweet nothings her wall did he peel. Poor lost soul knew not what to feel Past hurts flitted through reel by reel Love blossomed again and she did feel Never had she loved this true and real. She lives life now in a trance Duties left incomplete did she attend Horror but dead was her glance Defeated lost totally even to pretend. |

A very sad poem about an easily fooled woman. But many men are preditors. Your poem is quite timeless and beautiful. |

Esha, 'her' story brings tears to my eyes. I have a similar one to tell, but I have never written of it ~ at least not as fully and as impassioned as this one. "Loved she with a passionate abundance Generous and bountiful she only had delight" ~ It is such a shame when a woman such as this tender-hearted girl is taken advantage of and not appreciated. May her heart heal yet again, and be open to love ~ and may that love be the one that 'she' finally deserves. Linda |

Dear Esha that is a very sad poem but you wrote it well. I hope it's not too long before you feel the sun on your face and you can smile again. Good luck and take care Lindsay |
