Indeed they do, dear Alison. I have to start a new garden now around one lonely small tree but already the birds are visiting which I take as a good sign. Helen |

"growing a haiku" ~ What a novel idea! You are so creative, Lasky Girl!!! ~ and your photography captured the exquisite beauty of that poppy! The colour is brilliant. Quite the photographer, ye be, Sweetie! I can still visualize a coffee table book with your captioned photos that capture the beauty of Alaska! Love you! Linda |

Simple but very beautiful haiku, Alison. Poppies always remind me of being 6 years old and living near a highway in Salem, Oregon with an embankment of the most beautiful poppies. Ida |

Poppies honour the fallen brave. And they do indeed catch the senses, just as your lovely Haiku does. The sight of the great poppy meadows which cover the battlefields of France, where the western world vindicated its freedom, are a breathtaking and humbling sight. And all the roads that I've been strolling down... now I've found they all seem to be marooned. So profoundly doomed. |

Excellent haiku! I can not write them but admire them and keep trying! This is one of the best I have ever read! Beautiful. to me, a haiku should reach in and touch the senses and stimulate the mind all the while being lovely and personal to read. You have done it all with this one! Jan |

Awwwwwwwwwwwww, that's just too cute, dearest Alison! It's truly amazing how, even while still frames of pictures don't do nature total justice in any case, how we can still capture so much in one frame alone like this! (huggies) Your haiku is truly a moment of Zen for me and many more, dearest Alison, thanks for providing that halcyon hearth as always!
