I imagined we were a stationary train then
a boxcar of two that was nearly over crowded
so we had to get closer into each other
like putting on another lover's gloving

you said you liked my fingers like limbs
that you could climb the tree feeling of
and you knew I couldn't look into your eyes
without that reaction that scared you sometimes

we exchanged our small talk and whispering
like mouthfulls of water and then running
to that widefire place we started on purpose
pretending to put it out when it was raging

then there was that residue scattered after
like spring flowers that some other god planted
and everywhere your white dress went waltzing
you picked up colors you said would be pretty

when you mingled them in the beard of my mind

Oh, my god!! Each line sounds like an irresistible song that makes me want to dance, even if only in the heart. Or I could do some somersaults to express the joy you convey with this gem ...  maybe better not! Last time I tried to demonstrate my skills in the Cossacks' dance I ended up moaning ... in pain!

Consideration: isn't it time to get published yet?!!

Love,
Margherita

Yes, dear D., it does count and this is a beautiful place to share our poems. But  - though I am sure many more people read you besides those who actually leave a comment - out there in the world there would be multitudes who would appreciate it too. Why deprive them of this possibility?

One of the traits of your personality that always impresses me too, is your humbleness. The kind of humbleness that is characteristic for the truly great souls.

Love,
M

That would be too much honor, but thank you for the thought, dear D.!   ... you know there is a long list of fans waiting!

Well, while you are in such a nice mood, why don't you begin by putting together a selection of your most acclaimed gems? You could let us - the fans - indicate our personal favorites! Oh, isn't that a good idea?

If you are not published, you need to be!  This poem is just magnificent, like everything that you write.
