Standing in the gathering twilight
I looked at the straight ray of light
Wondering whether it was heading my way
To bring brightness in my gloomy day.

Wonder of wonders it fell on my face
And lighted it up like yonder years
Bewildered I stood in God's grace
And hoped life had for me left years.
