 My Summer’s Dream by Linda L. Dowd Lying by the river's edge, In clover pink and white, Searching eyes scan azure skies, As thoughts are taking flight. Breezy clouds of swirling shapes, Stir imagination. ~ Angel choirs and trilling elves, ~ Witches’ incantation. Mountains topped with snowy peaks, Scrub palms dot desert plains. Oceans rolling to the skies, Clouds dark with stormy rains. Castles glow with crystal light, There’s gold at rainbow’s end. Colours in a host of hues, ~ An artist’s perfect blend. Stallions race 'cross dusty plains, With long manes flowing free. Knights of Olde in armour gold, Charge forth with chivalry. Dragons snorting flames of fire. Fierce lions roar with pride. ~ Swimming swans on glassy ponds, In slow and graceful glide. Unicorns and elfin sprites, Rejoice on banks of stream. Pixies prance and fairies dance, In this, my summer's dream. Cotton clouds of candy pink, Give rise to fantasy. Taking me to far-off lands, Where I would rather be. . |

Favourite quality time of mine as well, just lying on the grass watching the clouds and the different shapes the clouds take on. Wow, I must say this is breathtakingly dreamy, imaginative and exquisitely penned words Linda, your wonderful poesy never stops to amaze me. Katriona |

2 Cloud-gazing is such a relaxing, enjoyable pasttime. I used to do it more often than I do now. With the hustle and bustle of everyday life, we often neglect taking the time to smell the proverbial rose.
