Melody of Solitude Ash smolders from the end of a curious bribe Unwinding the stress of an endless day in smoke Carrying numbness into the night breeze on white fingers Rings of precarious exhale, finite at the edges of a statuesque stare The storm has passed, leaving calm to clear the clutter unaware As if the judgment of time given sentence in lingering discontent The air sings in homage to an unrelenting resonant Heavy, as the breast of fate, arrested mid scream Nothing will appear as it shall seem, nothing can be found Least of all, in summer scents and rain rebound The windings of the wind relinquish sound and soul Find my mind afloat, at rest of weary disposition Caveat the predawn mist of August, summer’s promise sighs And breeze, oh please the emptiness ascends so wise Then sing a peaceful hum that I may snuff the burning night And be within the arms of slumber’s lullaby tonight Copyright Kkh 8/19/09 |

ash smolders from the end of a curious bribe. (four letter swear word). Great write. I love my dog, and my truck. It's that simple, really. |

Very deep and contemplative Kathy. There is an air of sadness here that permeates the whole piece. Hope everything is ok on your end. |

Very beautiful, Kathleen! I like that idea of being within the arms of slumbers lullaby. |

The plight of August in all its splendor with the air of arrogance as Fall will soon wipe the memory off the crocus again. So beautiful and inspirational your words this late summer morn. |

This one paints with bold strokes and fine ones at that. A wonderful write. "Heavy, as the breast of fate, arrested mid scream" oh man that is so good. Yoin |
