Artist: Leo Waygen Leave Me Not by Linda L. Dowd Leave me not, dear Beloved, lest this heart aggrieve. ~ For thy absence wouldst lead to mine utter demise. By mine side, may ye stand. ~ Let there be no good-byes. I shall bare all to thee ~ as to thee I shall cleave. Thy soul speakeths the truth and dares not to deceive. Dost ye listen to reason? ~ To go is unwise. Leave me not, dear Beloved, lest this heart aggrieve. ~ For thy absence wouldst lead to mine utter demise. Unto thee I’ll be open to hold and receive. There will be no reprisals or tears in mine eyes. I beseech thee, dear knight, to see past this disguise. ~ For together new heights, we shall surely achieve. Leave me not, dear Beloved, lest this heart aggrieve. . |

Hi EA-I recognize that this has been done in a familiar format, but for the life of me I cannot remember it. It's absolutely lovely in both it's the rhyme and rhythm. Beautifully crafted and a bit on the Shakespearian style....truly enjoyed this piece of work from your pen....peaceseaker |

Yo Linda, I would avoid the archaic language. It sounds pretentious. Bobby |

Brown-eyed Beauty ~ I truly enjoy writing in this style. It's as if I am transported back to the days of damsels and knights. It so impassioned and romantic. I have not mastered the language of old ~ but I'm trying. I'm a work in progress. But I'll keep trying because I love it so! Love to you, sweet ss, Linda |

BluesSerenade ~ Greetings, Bluesy! I'm pleased that you like this "style" on me! There are several pipsters who seem to have it down pat and I greatly admire the skill that they show in writing in this manner. Big warm hug, Linda |

Alison ~ Yes, Lasky Girl! It is fun trying out new forms. However, following the 'recipe' can be somewhat arduous to follow at times, ~ but I find that the effort is worth the while! Thank you, Sweetie! Love 'n hugs, Linda [This message has been edited by Earth Angel (08-11-2009 02:22 PM).] |

Yann the Man ~ That was exceptionally nice of you to say. It is highly gratifying to know that my poetry does all that for you! It is responses like yours and our kind fellow pipsters that encourage me to keep on writing. It makes me feel as though what I'm writing ~ is worth writing. Thank you! Oh, and btw, I'm sure you know that I am a BIG FAN of your poetry ~ and you! Love 'n a hug, Linda |

Yo Bobby! Pray tell, didst thou arise from the grumpieth side of thy bed? Archaic language (which I adore) is very suitable for an archaic form of poetry such as the Rondel. Linda |

2 Greetings, Katriona! I appreciate your appreciation! I swear I must have lived a past life in those times. It is so familiar to me. I suppose that may be why I gravitate to anything pertaining to that by-gone era! Linda |

Dear Linda, After having recently taken on the Etheree,I now know what a challenge writing any form can be! Your poem is exquisite, and as timely as the artist who paints it! I think poetry is like art-- Do people avoid painting in the style of Impressionism because it's already been done? Poetry is the music of the voice, rhythm, tone, language... It would be a shame not to play with the elements! I'm so glad to read your poem with its flowing flavor of Old English. Beautiful work! (I was trying to figure out the pattern while reading yours and I let out a "whew!" It looked like a bear to do! hugs, misc'e |

misce ~ Thy glowing mots be music to mine joyful ears! Yes, it was a "bear" to write! ~ A grizzly bear! I suppose with practice, the writing process should become easier! That was one kind and eloquent response! Thank you VERY much! Linda |

I like it when someone can say things in a way many are unfamiliar with in terms of speech forms and still come through to anyone. This could almost be heard as vows when these two married. Nicely done. zaac I kept wondering why that frisbee kept getting bigger and bigger....and then it hit me. |

(smiles) Wow, some druid must have spiked your chalice, as this sounds sooooooooo much like the Olde language of Yore! (does happy renaissance rumba) (sigh) Longing was indeed a common theme in classic poetry, and you capture that sentiment ever so triumphantly here, dearest Linda! I would try those poetry form experiments more often if I could, but I guess I'm a little too lazy for structure! (huggies) Another true keeper, yippee! Dear angel friend, NOAH ~ I woke up early this morning with visions of emails coming in one after the other from someone but I could not see who they were from. I couldn't go back to sleep. After a restless hour just lying there in bed thinking about those phantom emails, I felt compelled to go and turn on my computer. Well, there wasn't anything out of the ordinary in my email In Box ~ but there sure was a run of my poems which you had replied to! Aha! So that was what I was picking up on! THANK YOU!!!! My smile is so broad that my cherubic cheeks are hurting! lol Much love and appreciation (and surprise!!!) Linda |

A beautiful expression, dearest Linda. The crusades were naught but a torrent of fools arrows, innocent blood, and lovers tears. So much death. And all for a piece of wood and a broken lance. 'Wailing voices on the wind, urging me to turn. Distant tortured screams. Cold blue fires burn'. |
