She's broken four dates we've made two while I was getting dressed she occasionally shows renewed interest only to give another excuse I've heard a myriad of reasons a multitude of mysteries "I didn't know if I could trust you, you came on so strong" "My guy friend wants to date me, but he has no job to support himself" "I need to get a job and health together before I can date anyone" "I have class right now and don't get out until 8" "I'm sick" She doesn't answer the phone nor return my calls hiding behind texts and wall posts avoiding the sound of my voice When a man is fed silence it only seems like rejection it only makes him try harder at least this man raised by planet of women easy prey to manipulation left without a clue reaching for the distant flower |
