something about that baskin robbins moon
a tennis ball of single scoop vanilla
in a tub of dirty blue jean sky
never washed em before kind
with dog hair friendly all over

like when we were kids kind of memories
got the warm all over us, like syrup
and we could feel our freckles
under the night glow colors
like heaven glued them there

old hound highways were soft licorice
bare footin' left a few tracks
but didn't burn your toes
and you could walk with your eyes closed
it don't matter in which direction

since love was in the middle and on both ends

The "newness" and memories go hand in hand don't they.....and you write them so nice, DS~

D

I particulary love "dog hair friendly" - nothing like dog hair, a favorite pair of blue jeans and a goofy laugh to set one apart.

This is another good one - how come they are all so good?

This is so true - that time in one's life when there are no worries just love to surround you!  This is wonderful.

It's almost dawn now and I am happy I went diving early for pearls ... and finding this one which sparkles with poetic radiance.

Awesome, dear D.!

Love,

Once again, thank you. You beautifully weave truth and beauty, with a hint of intrigue.

The blending of the past and present was so subtle that didnt even realise when one finished and the other started .Keep coming up with these so that we can learn.

That last line was a killer!  Wow.  Did not know where you were going at first but knew if I continued to the next line, and the next, it would build and enlighten and so it did!

Warm fuzzies with this one
