it was another scooter moon high noon down at the back inn and she was new around here she said, with her name down there on the back of her belt in embossed leather for easy reading so you will know whose backside it is that you are admiring she said, that is, if I was one of the more literary kind of men I said I had a library card and knew how to whisper she said she was more complicated then just a name said she had a lot of other words for a lot of other places too and that she was way deeper than just a typical short story more of an all night kind of read, one you can't just put down easy I said I had been craving a novel, even a masterpiece in brail she smiled at my apothegm and chivalry and then casually added that she had been more into women lately and had a lady date later already but if I was into unpredictable threesomes and just waiting my turn she might keep me around for after while and by the way, what was I drinking I replied that I was just surprised they served dream whiskey in heaven ___________ daark (highway series) (note: the name of the bar has been changed to protect the guilty) [This message has been edited by Dark Stranger (08-05-2009 09:31 AM).] |

Okay, D, I had to get out my dictionary. Now there is some kind of crime in making a person look up a word before 8:00 am. "apothegm" - what a great word and I had to laugh. Didn't we recently see a discussin here in PiP about the word "pithy"? Apothegm - I can't say it but I can spell it now. And I know what it means. This poem was a bit different and I enjoyed it a lot. You have such a whimsical side - and you do love to skirt the edge of naughty, don't you. Thank you for my morning jolt of awake words. Alison |

Well of course they serve "dream Whiskey in heaven." They had better! Like the edge on this one Dark Stranger, naughty and just a hint of a twist. Dang good writing! Jan |

Your whims always serve others even when the bar may be empty of patrons...and other libations. I need to do a bit of catching up...it seems that the sun might not be setting on the westerly side of tomorrow. |

quote: You are too cute!! What I love in your poetry besides the incredible poetic heights, is the fact that you bring smiles, dear D. Thank you. Love, Margherita |
