Summertime music is
touching whispered wish of leaves,
with harvester's footfall
tenderly trapping tomatoes,
and snapping the corn from its stalk
as the breeze across the wind chimes
settles on the lolling, heavy breathing dog.

I am listening
to this choir as children on the sidewalk
shriek past the sun-stripped yard,
passing the open window
where music leaks
and cucumbers pile up
and are gift-wrapped
in paper bags.

Well this is a treat. Two poems from you today! I am copying what you wrote in your reply to your "Seraglio" poem, for othe readers to read.

Great title Martie, and you are one awesome poet now yanno! Such fresh immediate images, so apparently simple yet so hard to do well - unforced and lovely writing. And I forgot to say thank you for your nice comment on my dark and dismal Micheal poem
