Walk a mile in your shoes? Hah- I'll run two, and I'll do it better then you. Got nothin' to do, so I sip the booze. Got a wall keepin' me in, got a cage and a leash called sin. Every moment I take is another mistake, every breath is done in a slow thoughtful action not -reaction to the will to live. So I laugh, smile- smirk in your face at your pathetic denial. Got a handful of light, a chest full of heart. A mind with no windows and a soul ripped apart. Take a trip down with me- Down memory lane, memory shame, memory I blame. We can skip in the sunlight, hold hands in the moonlight, kiss in the starlight. We can run away and be free, never to say, be with me. I'm so aware of my loneliness so positively and utterly amused. -LostPoet "We are all in the gutter, but some of us are looking at the stars." Oscar Wilde |

Your closing words shed a lot of light on your poem for me. It showed me where you were truly coming from and where you are presently. "I'm so aware of my loneliness so positively and utterly amused." ~ But as I see, you soon will be moving to Tucson! ~ New start! New beginnings! New friends! Best of luck with your move ~ and with everything else in your life. Welcome to piptalk, N Poet! Giving you a warm, welcoming pip hug, EA |
