 Standing Strong by Linda L. Dowd When skies are gray and clouds block out the sun, I know beyond the clouds the sky is blue. With hopefulness in heart, each day’s begun. From my thoughts, new realities are spun. I live my life with honesty and grace. I know beyond the clouds the sky is blue. My mirror shows a smiling, friendly face. With thankfulness, I start each brand new day. I live my life with honesty and grace. I know God’s angels guide me on my way. There is no mountain top that I can't climb. With thankfulness, I start each brand new day. I live each day not wasting precious time. I'm standing strong. ~ Try never to be weak. There is no mountain top that I can’t climb. Some of the poetic forms that I have been trying my hand at, as of late, can certainly try my patience! lol I'm finding them rather challenging! ~ but worth the effort. You don't need a sword of truth and defiant banner, Linda. There is heroism in every small deed, every tear kissed from a lover's eye, every word of kindness shared with a dejected friend. Sometimes our love for others lets us be strong, for them, and often the hardest thing we can do is be strong for ourselves. |

(huggies) Oh Linda, this is a fabulous, positively affirming terzanelle, brimming with your courageous Leo qualities! (smiles) Given how overcast Portland is generally (we only get an average of 127 days of sunshine annually, this is certainly something I can relate to ever so well, where internally I yearned for just one sunbreak, one shaft of light to puncture the clouds, and when that happened maybe I would finally see some sunshine in my life...........and holding onto faith made all the difference! Hope you are well, dearest friend! Your valiant heart is bound to shine and once you scale that highest mountain, your beaconing halo will be what generates the alpenglow! Oh, Noah! Let us both stand strong! We can overcome whatever life throws at us! I knew that Oregon had more than its fair share of cloudy days, but I had no idea that it was almost 2 out of every 3 days! Well, I would imagine that a sunny day would not be taken for granted!
