Y'all leave from here and drive to there and don't know nothin' 'bout the in between Up in them bushes, where your wheels won't roll, there are things that you aint seen Some run together and some walk alone Deep in the woods Not just in lore Their world is shrinkin' and they're startin' to roam Movin' closer to your back door There are strange things all around you Far away from the trodden trails Things that watch you in the dark, that can make a strong heart fail Them woods hold places where grizzlies wont show their faces, for fear of things that threaten their health Where everything is silent 'cause nothin' wants to draw attention to itself Strange lights dance in the shadows in the midst of an eerie fog and early every morning, just as day is dawning, buzzards gather and bark like dogs And as the world grows smaller, you can tremble and holler Let the grass grow around locked doors A days gonna come when there's no where to run and you just can't hide no more Like you've always done before Pride of man You think you've got it all tame but there are things that sneak and things that think you're just a weak link in the chain Just a link in the chain A weak link in the chain *** |

Sounds like you know the forest very well, Larry. I know it better than most, myself. Ida |

Yo XOx Uriah xOX, I noticed a car with Virginia plates parked in the hood the other night. You've been visiting here haven't you? This is a clever, and true poem. Bobby |

I really like this poem, it takes me on a journey like no other. Never let the fear of striking out keep you from playing the game. |

Lots of things go bump in the night, and some are real! Enjoyed this. We really are not in charge of all the forest life. |
