God’s Eternal Light
by Linda L. Dowd

Each morn I wake in light of sunshine bright,
and plant the seeds of joy that they might grow.
I sleep in peace as moonbeams light the night.

Each wrong I’ve done, I plan to make it right.
~ For I shall reap the seeds I plant and sow.
Each morn I wake in light of sunshine bright.

For all is well in God's embrace of Light.
As is Above, may we be blessed below.
I sleep in peace as moonbeams light the night.

Gold rays of love cast out my days of night.
God guides my oars as steady forth I row.
Each morn I wake in light of sunshine bright.

The skies are clear with no dark clouds in sight.
Both day and night, God's love fills up my soul.
I sleep in peace as moonbeams light the night.

Bask in the glow of God's eternal Light.
Let go, let God ~ enjoy life's ebb and flow.
Each morn I wake in light of sunshine bright.
I sleep in peace as moonbeams light the night.

Linda, the villainelle is one of my favorite forms of poetry.  Yours has the feel of ebb and flow, like surf, constant, whispering, brilliant, musical, and vast.  The peace permeates, and the senses calm. How beautifully you lay these thoughts out for us...and with such talent!

It's a soothing poem to wake up to, as well.

Beautiful and peaceful and inspiring, Linda.  Just what I needed.  Smiles.  Yes, "let go and let God" is one of my favourite quotes.  It is not always easy to let go, but, of course, God does things so much better than I (giggles at the understatement), so I am always relieved when I get it right and really do, "let go and let God!"

Nothing more than this is indeed required to live life in fullest awareness and in gratitude.
You have expressed the quiet surrendering to God's love ever so beautifully, dearest Linda Angelo Terrestre.

Such elegance and joyful truth emanate from this page of exquisite poetry.

Having written a few of these candle burning Villanelle's I know how hard they are to write, this is a masterful write indeed.

Oh yes, I can echo Johan's comment, I know  a bit about villanelles myself, I have written quite a few, and I can tell you this is one beautifully crafted villanelle.  Excellent job dear Linda.

Thank you, Katriona. I admire your pennings of the classic poetic forms! You are a skilled poet technically, but even more appealing to me is your ability to stir emotion in me with the beauty of your words.

Margherita Que Bonita ~

I literally do try to go more with the ebb and flow of life than I used to. I was like the proverbial salmon always struggling to swim upstream. I have a more relaxed attitude. I still am faced with the slings and arrows of outrageous fortune ~ but my attitude has improved. I don't spazz like I used to. I am more at peace and believe everything happens for a reason. Yes, for the most part life is good for me both day and night. However, when things aren't, I still maintain a positive attitude and before I know, positivity starts rolling in to wash away all the negative crapola! Light attracts Light! Dark attracts Dark! ~ So I keep the Light on!

I used to suffer with bouts of insomnia ~ Until I discovered how to hand all my stresses, fears, worries, and woes over to God for the night.I even stopped saying my loooong prayers. I made them short but meaningful ~ and fell to sleep! It works for my daughters now, as well.

May His Light light up your road in life!

Greetings, sol sistah! I honestly believe that happiness is a state of mind. Think happy! Be happy! Even during the darkest times, I still put a smile on my face and before I know it, I'm actually smiling from the inside out. Some times, it just takes a little bit longer than I would like!!!

Johan ~

I find them difficult to write as well. It's like following a complicated recipe. Mind you, with patience and determination, the end result can be worth the effort. The French Vanilla, as I affectionately refer to this French form, has such beauty and grace if one manages to write one correctly. I'm pleased that you found mine not lacking. Thank you!

(smiles) God's presence is truly omnipresent, and I truly believe wherever there is light, the Holy Spirit beacons with indubitable promise and guides us each and every day in reality! (huggies)

As I always used to tag at the end of my posts: "May love and light always shine upon you!", yay!
