numb old man

ah but I’m old now
slow on the draw.
cant find things,
can’t see what I once understood.

i talk less
and slower when I do
people think they
have to dumb things down
to talk to me.

i have seen so much.
i am never surprised anymore

ah but I’m old now
the pain has eased,
but the clarity has gone.
i’m a numb old man.
