EVANESCENCE December 1998 The light sparkled on the glass in your hand. For a moment, I turned away, and, like the light, you were gone, but for an instant, you and the sparkle were there, …I think. Owl |

A precious moment fixed in memory forever. Evanescence couldn't have been rendered more beautifully than you did, dear Diana! Good to find you here tonight! Love and hugs. Margherita |

Thanks, Heart2Heart, Yoinn, Marghertia, brown-eyed-girly, Ida, Billie, Klassy Lassy, and Yann, for reading and for your kind responses. Heart 2Heart, nostalgic memory from 1998 though it may have been, it was a very brief moment and came to nothing. Margherita, I tend to record my life and thoughts in poetry, and I am glad that I do, because it captures moments that could escape my memory in time. Shellie, yes, it does, for me too. Ida, what a sweet thing to say. You made me smile. Billie, perhaps I lost the opportunity, but I think that the reality is that I imagined it at the time. If there really had been a spark from him, he would have done something about it. But that was a sweet thought from you, though. Klassy Lassy, I think there was opportunity enough. I think the whole thing was just wishful thinking on my part at the time. Yann, thank you for experiencing my poem so well and for calling it a jewel. Owl |

You've presented such a poignant moment with so few words. But each word held the sparkle and caught this reader's mind's-eye. Well done, Diana. |
