I know deep down inside There’s someone I recall Someone who left to hide Before the change to fall Got to find the voice to shout No matter what the cost Somehow let the someone out Before the voice is lost I know it never ends Eyes blinking it all away But the pain never mends And the words go astray The rift opens wider yet Bridges burning, falling down Crushing reality starts to set And curses the broken ground I know that someone’s here There are traces in the ash and smoke Seems like a grey and truthful tear As the remembrance begins to choke The pieces of someone left to fade To scatter as something less By constant purging in slow degrade As they become nothingness I know the pieces fit If only for a moment today I know that this is it The moment has gone away |

I know that someone’s here There are traces in the ash and smoke Seems like a grey and truthful tear As the remembrance begins to choke The pieces of someone left to fade To scatter as something less Such a voice, even if reduced to a whisper, is worth the quest! This is poignant to the point of heartbreak... and pure perfection! |
