Thank you for ruining my childhood with your awful ways. Thanks for telling my mom that you wished she was dead some days. You held that gun up to her face, telling her to shut her mouth. I sat at my door and listened to my Dad say he would blow up this freakin house. No one could help as you sat there drinking your life away. I just only wish you had a better reason for staying away for days. Where were you the night of that car crash, when we all needed you so bad? You were sitting at your favorite bar, being the world's number 1 dad. You came home drunk and high and she told you one last time. You sober up or your family will leave you well behind. You got the help you needed, and things are better now. I just wish the memories would leave my mind somehow. So, thank you for sobering up and becoming all you were meant to be. I'm now happy to say that you're my dad, and that we are family. :) |

Boy, I did not expect the end. Thank YOU for sharing this poem - what a way to start and end to keep me reading. You did it. I like this poem. Alison |
