Presents are laid out under the trees I watch the other kids laugh with glee While I sit in my room head between knees I hate Chirstmas; and no I'm not the grinch People say Merry Christmas and I just flinch Ever since 2006 I’ve never been able to get the Christmas fix Santa isn’t jolly So why decorate with holly? Santa is a creep At night he breaks and enters When in the house there’s not a peep Kids laugh, parents snicker While I cry as the candle flickers Parents buy kids Christmas stickers I don’t see the point Discussions are not joint At Christmas I hate Christmas The crappiest time of year Except of course from my birthday |

Bah-Humbug! People just have to go with the flow, Enjoy the holidays, candles that glow. Laughing with family and friends is joy, Opening presents, ho-ho, oh boy! Let the cheer in your heart and try to smile, Christmas season is only for a little while. Well done, and it sure sounded very "Grinch-like" ![]() |

@Mysteria Agreed that it sounds grinch like @Madelyn You are good at keeping your reader reading, but at the end of the poem you never tell what 2006 was all about. You leave the reading thinking; "Was 2006 just the date she "grew" out of Christmas at?" or "What's the point? To be negative about Christmas?" I myself was thinking; "Go get a blog and post all about how Christmas sucks, More people'll pay attention to that." Well written, just not the best poem I've seen. |
