Sandman As the day grows quiet, Nightfall comes near, I wait and wonder, Will it appear? The sound of twilight, The whisper in the wind, When hope is lost, And sorrow has no end. My eyelids grow heavy, In this tiring wait, Maybe a little longer, Maybe a slow night; or maybe just fate. Dazzling stars light up the sky, They shine upon me on a cold winter’s night. Sometimes I ponder, sometimes I cry, Sometimes it mocks me; that star filled sky. Ah, midnight it is! Silence taking its toll. A flash of light comes to me, Relieving my soul. He sits near my window, Waiting for my command. It’s my decision tonight. What will I demand? As I lay back, A slight smile pursing my lips, Happiness washes over me, Feeling his fingertips. I close my eyes, As the passion runs deep, Warm in his embrace; fantasy caresses my mind, To the whisper of; Sleep. Most people know me, |
