The poor man lies beaten having not eaten for a week. His pockets lay empty, like so other many of the poor. The street is his domain, laden with rain and rats. His clothes are muddied, his face sullied. No complaints. Men died out there daily, survive long rarely. Cruel world. But to him this is life, and he will fight to keep it.
