Solitude, Once longed for so badly, Has become the root of her insanity. Mind unravels And secrets hit the ground. She sits alone with them As she has on so many of these Cold nights. Alone, The way she's been for so long now. Defensive; She's been defensive even longer than she's been alone. That's how she got here. Sick of the fight she begged for an end, Seclusion, Silence. But you can only find silence from the world; There is no getting away From voices within. It has become internal, And the root of her insanity Is her solitude. |

The irony of this piece is astounding. Whether the irony is sympathetic, pitying, or condescending, i don't know. However, I liked how u twisted the beginning and end a bit to mirror itself. Although the middle was a bit wordy (and sometimes abrupt), it effectively set the poem up for what u were going for. Thanks for sharing! There is power in the pen. |
