Trying to forget is the hardest part
Not wanting to makes it harder
I know it was her choice, i just wish it was different
Why did she have to leave us?

She is gone now
Gone forever
Why cant i just let it go?
I cant bring her back, no one can

I wish she didn't leave
I wish i had seen her more often, but i couldn't
I wish she'd never been sick
And my overall greatest wish, i wish she hadn't died.

So why cant i get over it?
Its been 5 months
Everyone expects me to have it forgotten
Her in the deepest shadows of my mind...

To deep in my mind to be remembered
Like memories of when i was three
We use to be inseparable
So why'd she have to leave?

Crying doesn't help
Neither does hiding all alone
Or just thinking of all the good times we had
It just a memory of what use to be

Its overwhelming me
I'm not sure how much more pain i can take
Everything is going wrong
Lifes to unpredictable for planning

But why had it been her?
Why not somebody else?
Did it have to be Ashley?
Or was it just meant to be?

I lost two family members, so I can see where your coming from! I'm pretty sure she was a good person... so I believe that she's smiling down from heaven right now. I'm not saying that you'll never get over her, because you two were like family (maybe more) but what I'm saying is that she'd want you to be happy, because she loved you, whether as a friend or a gf... I know that she'll always have a place in your heart, but be happy...I think it's what she would've wanted..
But enough about that... I absolutely loved ur poem. You could really identify the pain you went through and are still going through, and you could see that it had depth. I loved how you didn't try to make everything rhyme, you just spoke what was in your heart- absolutley wonderful and heartfelt!!
