I wrote this one day after I was done daydreaming.
Please post replies I need the encouragement.

A careful girl I want to be
A little sister follows me
I don not dare go astray
For fear she'll go the selfsame way

I cannot once escape her eyes;
Whate'er she sees me do she tries;
Like me she says she's going to be-
That little sister following me

She thinks that I am good and fine;
Believes in every word of mine.
The bad in me she must not see-
That little sister following me.

I must remember as I go,
Through summer's sun and winter's snow,
I'm building for the years to be
That little sister following me.

Hi PBcookies'nmilk,

I like this poem a lot. I am the little sister of four older siblings and I think that they did take care to help me and shelter me. Your poem reminds me of that time.

I think she is a very lucky little sister. Do me a favor and tuck this away for her - some day she will treasure this poem.

It's a keeper.

This is pretty good! I'm the second oldest of four brothers. My younger brother follows me just like your poem. I really liked this.

I really love this poem. It really reminds me of my little sister. God knows she does everything i do. If i were to jump off a bridge she would follow me. Good write.

I really like this, and I can relate. I have a lil sis, myself. She loves to do everything I do, and wear what I wear, but she is such a brat, lol.

I'm the only girl... i have three older brothers and every day when they came home from school i used to toddle around behind them! Your poem relates to so many people... well done!

wow.. great poem PBcookies'nmilk.. it reminds me so much of myself, except I have a little brother who looks up to me so much. Sometimes it's hard to be the good example when you know you're nothing that even comes close, but when you remember their face in the back of your mind, you know that they will keep you going as you continue to show them the good in you.
